about the blog
My goal for this personal growth blog is to inspire you to embrace your own journey. I hope that by sharing my journey, I can spread some positivity and light on whatever it is you may be going through. As human beings, we all struggle. We may not be able to change what happens to us, but we can choose to live life with more ease by lifting our perspectives. I hope that this blog can help you do this, whether that be with your own cancer journey or with something else. We can all use a change of perspective sometimes, so I thought I’d share mine.
When I was first diagnosed with cancer I was constantly searching for someone who was going through what I was going through. I found that a lot of people were, but not a lot of people my age. I was diagnosed at just 21 years old, with my whole life ahead of me. Battling illness is scary on its own, but when it hits you so early on, the rest of your life becomes a blur of uncertainty. I now choose to focus on what I do have and appreciate the little things more.
not a cancer blog
I am calling this blog a personal growth blog and not a cancer blog because instead of recalling all of the horrible things that come along with cancer I want to focus on the good. This doesn’t just apply to cancer patients, but to anyone who is going through something difficult in their lives. Let’s look at our experiences as essential life learning and not as something that holds us back. Let’s stop saying sorry to those who are struggling. Instead, let’s tell them how strong they are and how much stronger they will be after they get through it all.
